Its really scary sometimes how little people know about whats going on in the world.

If Im walking down the street with Mate in Germany people think its a pipe and Im smoking weed. Im almost embarassed to drink it outside.

As per my previous post, perhaps they're just not nearly as worldly as you. Not everyone is unique enough to discover such unknown and amazing things as yerba mate. And perhaps your confusing being "almost embarassed" with "love the attention I get".
