Thanks for the picture - those are mine! I love the Utah calf from EG as they're so comfortable while walking, so decided to commission these in the Russian Hatch Grain. I find calf hurts after a few hours of walking.

I'll polish them plenty after they arrive and will post pictures.
Please do! Those look really good.

Review of the Cascaden:

After having bought the Scotts and Thomsons, I wanted to try a cleaner design on the chisel last (SG65)
The fit was slightly tighter than the previous pairs, I had to stretch the shoes a bit by adding progressively more thin sock over the shoe trees. It took 2 pairs, a couple of weeks, and now they fit great. This time the spade sole is more aggressive, which I like. The workmanship is consistently neat, I love the elegance of the tapered heel and fiddleback waist. I was however underwhelmed with the pewter grey patina, or should I say, lack of patina. I would describe it as black with a hint of grey on the nose, facing and counters. Since I hardly ever feel like wearing black I decided to strip the shoes and apply a blue and
grey patina of my own, which I really like. One image from the Yeossal website comes close, the others on the site show a lighter more gray shade with a blue hue.

All in all, I'm pleased with them, but I would've like the patina much closer to the 'hero'image on the website.

I have 2 pairs on the SG65 last and love the shape. However, I like the rounded sole better than the spade.

Seems to be the spade shape might be best reserved to the more aggressive, “sexier” type of look. Definitely looks good, though.

Imo the rounded sole hugs the shoe, highlighting the beauty and curvature of the SG65. The spade sole breaks up the last's curves and doesn't flow as well. It is definitely more aggressive.

Are there any GMTOs going on?

They just closed their Collection Group Order (CGO) for there apron-stitch models on June 30th. It sounds like a new CGO is planned for July but no idea what it will entail.

I'd be in for another round of damage to the wallet :D

Yeossal hinted at a brogues CGMTO:

If there is going to be a CGMTO, I'm guessing it'll be a combination of the below:

1) Duxton (above instagram picture),
2) The previous GMTO (Duxton without wingtip, replaced by perforated captoe),
3) Alps (wingtip derby),
4) Clark (longwing derbies),
5) Cove (medallion adelaide),
6) Shrewsbury (medallion adelaide with perforated captoe),
7) Wilkie (medallion on wholecut, with v-shape perforated captoe)

I personally like #1 and #2 the most.... but I'm also biased because I designed these two. But Yeossal executed both ideas amazingly. All the proportions are just perfect. The whiskey version is a home run stunner.

I think the Duxton would look very nice on the YSQ last, so I want to try that out.

Lasted shoe trees are free until the end of July.. so ideally I'd like to get a few pairs in before that.

We can't simply vote or choose the shoe/last we want? It's Yeossal that comes up with what we get? I thought it'd be a little more open than that.

With their CGMTO, you're able to select one of the available models in the collection for the GMTO. As an example only, you'll be able to choose between 1 of the 7 brogue models I listed above. Then you can customize that shoe however you want, for example leather, last, heel, etc. So this is in my opinion the most customizable MTO programs available, to my knowledge. If you don't like the model that's available for the COLLECTION GMTO, you can just get a regular MTO and you'll be able to customize it however you want.

Anyone want to do a GMTO for a boot design? It's so rare to find boots with a narrow waist nowadays unless you go bespoke, and I think Yeossal would be able execute the idea perfectly. If we have a group of 4, I think we'll be able to bypass the 150SGD design fee and take advantage of the free 3 piece shoe tree deal before July.

I am thinking of a pair of jodphurs... anyone else interested? Or does anyone have any other design ideas?

I’d very likely be in on a jodphur. Probably out if it’s Chelsea, lace up or chukka.

Two down, two more to go! :)

@jacksomeister - this GMTO idea okay with you?

@Jmr928 - any preference over going with the Fukuda design or the TYE design? TYE appears to have a straight line down the interior side of the shoe, while it's curved for Fukuda. Personally I prefer Fukuda's design, but I'm flexible.

For the leather tab, I prefer TYE's design, in that's it's lower, so it wouldn't get caught with pants. But again, I'm flexible.

Let me know what you think.

One more jodphur picture posted by Fukuda this morning:

@rwtc - I’d be interested in joining for the Fukuda design. Ever since I saw that boot on IG, I’ve wanted something like it. Very clean and sleek design, especially with the chiseled last. And I agree that the TYE tab is a better option as it’s less likely to get caught on pant cuff. And I love how the strap is set coming through the leather.
