WOW! - just picked up my ties from the PO and it's a hattrick. 3 Yellowhook ties now in the last couple of weeks and all 3 are fantastic. Really can't say enough about the quality of fabrics and construction on these babies. Thanks Rob.

Had the distinct pleasure of enjoying some Widow Jane while wearing my Grey Bridseye tie this afternoon. Had never heard of Widow Jane but it's a very smooth and easy drinking Rye apparently from Red Hook. Key to the tie is to simply put it on and wear it, key to the whiskey is to enjoy it straight up for even a hint of water will overwhelm it. But both are fantastic.

Guys, just a heads up....EVERYTHING on our site will be marked down 15% until Valentine's Day. This will be the last sale on Winter Stock until we release our Fall Collection (and then it will still probably be 15%) so if you see something you like, email the link to your wife and/or significant other!

    Happy shopping.

Been in a vintage mood as of late...just finished my classes immigration unit and as always I use my family's primary source documents to help tell the story of American immigration. Well, this year I got a little lucky in my research and found an actual photograph of my great grandfather's barber shop that he opened in Coney Island in 1911. I've been searching for years for a picture and was resigned to never finding it. Needless to say when i saw the shot of Surf Ave and West 22nd Street and noticed the barber shop pole, I nearly burst into tears. I immediately ordered a huge print for my apartment and will be having it framed, and if I ever open up a shop, it will be the first piece I include. The photograph arrived yesterday, and not only did I love it immediately, but upon unrolling it I was able to read the barber shop's name...Leo's Sanitary Barber Shop. The man, dead since 1928, has always been an inspiration to me, and even more so the past few years since starting up Yellow Hook. So, here's where my head's been as of late...
