Yay or nay on these linen trousers?

I think they are pretty cool, sucks they have pleats but the side buckles instead of belt loops is a pretty neat detail on trousers such as these. I see them with a pale blue linen shirt and cordovan penny loafers for spring/summer. Very traditional and classy IMO. Thoughts? link

I've never seen reverse pleated trousers with side adjusters before.

That said, while I wouldn't buy them myself, nothing jumps out at me indicating that there is anything wrong with them.

Looks ok to me. I agree no pleats would be slightly better, but other than that, no issues. It's a rather neutral item that is spiced up a little with the side adjusters.

I have three pairs of 100% linen pants:

A pair of plain front white Theory pants in machine washable / dryable linen, a pair of tan Armani (yeah, I know, but in my defense it's the only Armani item I own) also flat front in linen, and a pair by RLPL in black with a single pleat and cuffs.

I personally like flat front when it comes to linen, and only bought the RLPL because it was incredibly inexpensive. I'm not crazy about side buckles in any pair of pants regardless of the material type; personally I'm a belt man.

I like them - I personally prefer flat-front on linen but these are pretty cool.

Don't beat yourself up about owning Armani pants. They aren't in range of that house's notorious fusing syndrome, and a lot of their clothes are quite wonderful.
