I saw one of these shirts today. Beautiful fabric, amazing construction, and nice details like the extra-thick, slightly large buttons sewn on with silk thread and the precision-fitted gussets festooned with a 'y'. And yet somehow it just didn't add up. The overall impression was trying-hard-to-be-a-great-shirt. yet with none of the confidence that leaps out from the Neapolitans or, say, Charvet. I think yApre is a line that has been revived by Individualized Apparel and may only be mtm or bespoke. All the ingredients were there (and the fabric was especially fine, as good or better than anything I've seen on Borrelli or Kiton). Perhaps it just takes the right person to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.

I've seen Y'Apre shirts at Neiman-Marcus(Michigan Avenue in Chicago). They had fabric swatches for a MTM shirt program. Some of the fabrics were quite nice, but somehow I was not greatly impressed by sample shirts that I saw.
