in London he used to dress in tailored outfits. My wife often said his style was too ostentatious for a refined man. She showed me this picture and said that he looks like a crook. I don´t agree. Do you? She even challenged me to dress like him in public. [IMG]

I'm gonna get flak for this but I can't stand behind ascots.
Maybe I'm too close minded but they are just too girly.

A bit more of the Western-wannabe-Cowboy meets City Slicker, IMHO. Not such a good look, again, IMHO.

He can get away with it , you most likely can't...

It's a very individual style. I don't think he looks bad in some of the posted looks, although I see where your wife is coming from with the "crook" comment. I would have used "ruffian" or perhaps even more appropriately, "dandy highwayman" (pace Adam Ant) [IMG] Strongly suspect anyone copying it will come a cropper. I say this as someone who in the past has used a ladies silk scarf as both an impromptu ascot, and as a tie. Fun experiments, but no to repeating them. Also, there will be a lot of guys trying to do the knotted neckerchief look this year, because IIRC it featured heavily in a Tom Ford lookbook. I wouldn't try to follow the crowd on this.

she knows him better than I do, and keeps saying that he just pretends to be younger than he is to hide his bad temper. I think that´s ok. [IMG]
