Cross post from the Skolyx thread, since it's not every day it's world premiere for a new range from Yanko :) :
They're here! The Belgian loafers from Yanko, the perfect summer shoes, fits like a glove to your feet. Four styles in unlined reverse kudu suede from British tannery Charles F. Stead, one in soft lined super supple deerskin. ⠀
⠀
As mentioned before, these are made with a Blake stitched construction and can be resoled, they have a thin half rubber sole which makes them much more durable, and they have proper leather board heel stiffener and thin toe stiffener to retain the shape. You have all the comfort of the unlined Belgian loafer model, yet with properties that give them durability.⠀
⠀
Price €179 ($159 excl. VAT). Limited stock (a few sizes already sold out during pre-order).

Here you find all Belgian loafers models, below a bunch of pictures of the goodies.

Fire. I'm tempted to cop for sure. Debating now between the non-tasseled dark brown suede or the dark brown deerskin.

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some sizing advice on Yanko last 960G.
My foot length is 27cm, width is 10cm and ball girth is 254cm. I've looked at size charts for Yanko online, and the reccomendation seems to be size 7 or 7.5 UK. This is the same reccomendation I get from contacting stores, e.g. Patine.pl.

What I find confusing is I have some other shoes in Loake Capital last (G width) in size 8.5 UK. While there is about 2cm empty space at the front, the width is just right at both the midfoot and across the toes. No room to size down. Would anyone have experience / interior measurements for last 960G in size 8.5 UK? Should I order the same size as I have now or go with the charts?

Thank you for your advice.

my feet are 28cm and I was recommended a UK 8.5 and in hindsight I should’ve gone for my TTS UK 9. So my take is that the charts are potentially a tad bit off.

My feet are also ~27cm in length and ~10cm in width, but rather narrow in the heel. For the Loake Capital I have size UK8F, which fits ok but is not my favorite last..
I have no experience with the 960G, but have a pair in 962G. I took (also) size UK8. In the past Patine has a detailed size chart for Yanko, with per last and size some measurements. Based on that I went for size UK8. It fits well, but a bit roomy in the toe area. Based on their current size chart, I also end up with size UK7. However, there is a note at bottom indicating that you should take a size corresponding to "length + 0.5 or 1 cm" to get a comfortable fit.

The 960 last looks roomier and rounder than the 962 last, so my guess is that size UK8 would not be too far off. What other brands/lasts do you wear that could help to relate and compare?

Hello, thank you for the detailed reply. I might go ahead and try a size 8 UK then. May I ask if you wear thin or thick socks with the pair you have in last 962?

Unfortunately I dont have that many shoes for referencing. Loake last 3625 size 9 UK in G width is probably what fits me best - a shame that they don't use better leathers. The Capital last is size 8.5 fits well enough all over exept the instep, where I use a tongue pad to fill the void. Length wise is it a little too long for my taste but there is no way I could size down without constricting my toes. I tried Cheaney last 125 in size 8.5 in G width, which fit okay but the sides of the shoe bulged out because of my flat/wide feet. I would say the issue was probably that the mid foot section of the shoe was too narrow. Ironically what is perceived as good craftsmanship makes shoes incompatible for my feet.

You are welcome.
I think all my socks are somewhere between thin and thick, and sometimes I use a half-insole for the toe area. It depends a bit how my feet are: with warmer weather / central heating, they will be bit bigger, but in cooler conditions they are somewhat thinner. The only 'but' with the 962 last is that I find the heel could have been sculped narrower -- but with RTW that is probably hard to get.

I also have a pair in the Cheaney 125 last, in UK8 / F width, which fits ok (the pair has not seen many wears). If I compare the Loake Capital 8/F to the Yanko 362/G, then the Loake feels roomier.

Regarding your original question and additional info, it look like length-wise you are a size UK8, but width-wise you seem be more comfortable with a wider last. As I said the 360 in 8 could work for you, might it could still be too narrow. Perhaps the 8.5 and try with an insole? In any case, though I never had to do, always good to find a retailer that has a return-policy.

Just a heads up that we got a restock of these beauties above, the Yanko Belgian loafers range, where many sizes went fast when we introduced them this summer. Also a new make-up, the classic Belgian loafers in medium brown reverse kudu. See all here.

My first pair of Yanko shoes, via Patine. Excellent fit. Also ordered a pair of double monks on the same last (915) from Skolyx, but I am experiencing some heel slippage, so maybe I should have gone down another half size... 20201124_205749.jpg

Get tongue pads and you should have the same fit. Derbys and monks can be a bit looser over the instep due to the open lacing/closing, same everywhere else. Quite common what you experience, almost always work super with inserting tongue pads.

Undecided. Yanko Oxford brogue black 915 vs Enzo Bonafe Oxford brogue brown. EB is discounted, just 20USD more than Yanko. In case you wondering why am I comparing shoes from different leagues. Not gonna wear them with denim of course. Not gonna lie that Yanko fits better but the discounted EB is attractive too. This will be my first quality shoes. What do you guys think?
