I'm looking to buy a merino wool sweater from JCrew and wanted to see if I can wait until the end of the month (sale) to buy it... but I'm not familiar with how good they are iwth inventory ... some stores sell out of XS and S very quick ...

Any of you guys have problems finding your size at the store or do they usually have it?

XS is usually only available through the web site and catalog; I have never seen it in Crew stores.

How do the XS sweaters fit on slim/short dudes? I wear XS in Gap, S in H&M. I did order an XS "fitted" polo once from J.Crew and it was long as hell.

Keep in mind that a lot of items aren't made in XS. I don't think they make XS sweaters, but I could be wrong.

^^I've only ever seen XS small button-ups in JCrew stores, maybe on one or two occasions, kinda silly how rare they are...I snagged one of those white linen two-pocket camping shirts in XS this Spring/Summer, fits better than all my other JCrew stuff but not for tucking. How tall are you? I'm 5'8 and have a 38 inch chest, 30 waist, so hopefully that gives you a rough idea, but I've never even seen an XS sweater, let alone tried one on.

Just a quick look at their website and 4 out of 8 of the cotton-cashmere sweaters are available in XS.

Certain stores might occasionally get in an XS or two, but they are very rare. I know the manager at the store near me, and he assures me that he has never seen one in his shop. Don't expect to find them in a store near you unless it is unusually large and located near a critical mass of preppy Asians.

Most of their tops are available online in XS, including many sweaters. What I find odd is that while they will create a variety of XS tops (which is somewhat unusual for a large mall chain) they almost never offer their casual blazers in 36.

You are wrong.

If you go to a JCrew store you can order out of the catalogue with the red phone and shipping is free, they should have XS in stock through that method.

I'm roughly the same size except a little slimmer in the chest. How does the XS button-up fit compared w/ button-ups from other places? like compared to an H&M small...

my roommate is pretty skinny and about 5'9/5'10; he swears by the j. crew xs size.
