Maybe Cable will make an appearance, although I don't think see how that could be possible given they want to tie this into the other X-Men movies. Cable is just too strong to not take over the movie and make his absence in the other movies strange.

It's a separate movie universe and both are unknown characters to the masses. They can and will write whatever back-story they need if they decide to add Bishop. No one will care if the movie itself is good.

People forget that these movie universe often change around characters for their needs. Look at Rogue. She's nothing like the comicbook version and yet her character worked well in the context of the story being told.

my bad. just looked it up. for some reason, i thought that Cable played a role in the comics. apparently, he does not.

bishop doesn't either. he replaced Kitty Pryde on the x-men TV cartoon.

    CABLE HAS EVERYTHING.

rogue sucks in the movies because her actress sucks,

A question for more knowledgeable X-Men fans: in X-Men 3 we see Cyclops and Professor X die, was that ever included in any of the comics?

Professor X has died a few times and is actually dead again right now. Not sure about Cyclops off the top of my head. Being comics it's not unusual to kill a character and bring him back.

Up till recently it was always assumed the two untouchable deaths were Bucky (Capt America's WW2 sidekick) and Jason Todd (Robin that the Joker killed). Both of them are back now too.

iirc, james marsden was also slated to shoot superman (with bryan singer) around that time, hence they had to kill him off.

nobody stays dead for long, well maybe except jonathan kent and ben parker

Any topic that touches comic book deaths has to include this:
