WW Chan, Basic Questions

I'm making my summer plans right now and I think there may be a chance that I'll drop by Hong Kong. I'm just wondering how long does it take for WW Chan to make a suit? I understand that multiple fittings would be required to get the suit right so I'm hoping to get some numbers from you guys so that I can determine how much it'll cost to stay for a week or so in HK.

When I was there earlier this year, I was measured in morning of the first day. Then followed up with one fitting on days two, three and four, and it was delivered to my hotel on the evening of the fourth day. I did e-mailed ahead of time to confirm that it could be done within my timeframe.

When Patrick was on the US tour last month, I wore it and there didn't seem to be any additional changes necessary.

Are they opened seven days a week? If I do go to HK, I don't get want to spend all my time there at WW Chan. How long does it take for them to do the fit and then let you go before the next fitting?

I think they're closed on Sundays. I don't recall the fittings taking long - maybe 15-20 minutes each at the most.

I scheduled my fittings for first thing in the morning, and they did not take a lot of time. That freed up the rest of the day, no problem.

Chan are very close to the TST underground station, so it's very convenient.

Hi all, from recent threads regarding chan, I was under the impression that the cost of entry was just a bit over 1k USD, with nicer cloths costing up to 1.5k. I gave him a call today and was told that prices are actually 1250$ starting, $1500 if you want an extra pair of trousers.(I live in HK) Is this the kind of price others are getting?

hi, my first post ever here after lurking for months.
i live in shanghai and have had 2 suits made in their shanghai shop. here starting price is cny5,950 (or about usd900) for a vbc super 110s. dont know what they ask in hong kong. hope this helps.

This seems about the right price.

Its always been a bit cheaper in Shanghai.

I suggest asking them about specific mills and ranges rather than asking for vague estimates. In November, entry level cloth was in the 1100-1200 range, SF approved cloth (Harrisons, Lesser, Smith, etc) was 1300-1500, and the luxury stuff (Scabal, Zegna, LP) was 1800-4000.

In July, I got a 2-piece suit from VBC 110 for about $1,170. I think that's about their low end for a suit these days unless they've had a major price hike since summer.

thanks for the replies, i guess chan is a bit out of my budget for now, 1k was pretty borderline for how much I wanted to spend. I know that Lee Baron(Peter Lee) does fully canvassed suits, are these considered bespoke or made to measure?

On this, I'd say Zegna and Scabal are far from luxury goods. They're cheap intimations of classics and trends. Harrisons, Lesser, Smith- if luxury is value, elegance, durability and timelessness; they're the real luxury products. I must say Scabal New Deluxe is great for odd trousers.

sorry to revive a very old post, but this is exactly what i was curious about..

how long in HK do i need for some ww chan suits with proper fittings (all fittings and dont want to rush work and compromise end product). i'm thinking to go to see chan but want to work out a budget (hotels/flights/food) for the time i'll be there to see how many suits/shirts needed to make this a worthwhile trip. i know i can email chan, but i'd rather have the opinion of some forumites who have done the trip

for my next suits debating between graham browne london or a chan trip, so just trying to figure out how much proper chan trip will cost! without crunching numbers i'm guessing a week trip would cost around 1k GBP (flights from london, transfers, hotels, food, entertainment), so i'm thinking 2-3 suits + shirts and this trip starts to make more financial sense..? also have to take the business days off work as no excuse to be in HK unfortunately
