WTB: Nice ties, 3-3.5" width

Any tips on eBaying (or otherwise finding) good ties that aren't quite as wide as most sold new today (i.e., 3.75")? Even with my rudimentary knowledge of ties I can tell that virtually everything at the local thrift stores is crap (or at least soiled with such). Thanks a lot for any advice and/or ties

What's a reasonable price, by the way, to expect to pay for decent used ties?

You can get nice ties on eBay for under $10 if you're patient...

Unfortunately I can't yet articulate what draws me to certain ties and repels me from others. I do seem to prefer stripes, some paisleys, and solids to most small patterns. This unclothed barbarian is still developing a sense of taste... Thanks for the tips guys
