Hello all,

I'm looking for a Black 3-Button, SB sports jacket in 36 / 38 (US size) SB with double vents and flap pockets, preferably in wool, but blends or cashmere are ok. I am especially fond of the Neapolitan style (Attolini, Borrelli, Isaia, etc...), but a non-Italian, non-Neapolitan jacket will do the trick as well. I am looking for a new jacket, BTW.

If you have something or know of something for sale, let me know via PM or email.

Thanks.

Jon.

good luck..

I'm sure you know as well as I do that simply deciding that you want a black sports jacket in 36 short is easier said than done. I learnt very quickly that you can't be particular. If it's my size, I buy it. You learn not to waste your time deciding on what color or styles will be your next purchases... I learned to take what's available, not what I want. Those 42 regulars don't know good they've got it. Seriously, I can't imagine a world in which I could go to any store and say, "I would like a navy windowpane 3 button suit please" rather than, "Do you have any 36 shorts at all in stock?.... oh, ok, thanks anyway."

Well, I am willing to take a 38 S and have my tailor significantly reduce it; which she can (miracle worker, well almost). The problem is that if I get an R I run the risk of two things:

First, that is a really long R and regardless how my tailor hems the bottom to a shorter length, the bottom pockets will look too low, especially flap pockets. Except if there is a way to move flap pockets up wards? (Obviously a mark is left when moved upwards, but hopefully the flap covers it, or maybe I'm just being overtly optimistic...)

Second, regardless as to how its cut, its longish frame throws of the balance of the suit with my body and / or the suit cannot be properly re-cut to fit my body.

Seriously, try Prada or Miu Miu. Prada and Miu Miu in particular and the Milanese designers in general cut with a shorter skirt than anyone else. Most other makers are going towards longer skirts, with more waist suppression. Really a lot harder to adjust without really throwing things off.

I'll keep an eye out for you -- LA Guy jogged my memory with the Prada comment. Filene's Basement does have some very small sizes perhaps still left in Prada jackets, but I'm not sure.

What do you think of this one? It's been altered, so pockets look a little weird. Â http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....39&rd=1
First off, I think it's misleading to call it NWT if it's been altered, and especially if it's been altered that drastically. That said, the pockets look really low and make the jacket look unbalanced.

The pockets look way too low, almost as if it was originally a "˜L' and was cut down to a "˜S'. I rather just purchase the 38 S Black Velvet 3-Button sports coat on the Polo website and have my tailor alter it. At least the pockets will look right.
