I'm looking for a solid black tie of decent quality at a college student price. I'm not picky, I just ask that it be solid black, less than 3.5" in width, and can be shipped to me and arrived on or before Feb. 17th. Let me know if you have one, or where I can find one at a decent price. Thanks.

You can probably get one from Marshall's or TJ Maxx for $10-15.

Funny you mentioned that. I'm studying at a cafe that's next door to a Marshall's, so I'll stop by there to have a look after I'm done. This town being in the blue collar part of New York, I don't expect to find anything decent there (from past experience). I just thought those SF members with a more discerning taste will have something more interesting.

Yeah, I'm not planning to spend that kind of money. I agree that a black tie is just that, a black tie. However, I plan to keep it and use it for many times to come, so I want something of decent quality.

A trip to the local Marshall's turned up nothing. There's one tie, in a package of two, from some Alexander Julian fellow. It felt like crap, and looked worse. $12.99 for a package of two ties was too much. I left empty handed. So, help a brother out, please.

Try Foley's, Macey's, whatever. They have tons of solid ties in every color, including black.

I'll see if I still have the one I got a while back. I never use it.

Sorry, I got rid of it. It was not very good anyway.

Come to think of it, solid black is something I almost never, if ever see at the thrift stores. When I see solid ties they are usually that horrible satin from someone's Regis outfit.

DrakNWorn-

check your PMs. I have a plain black H&M tie which you can have for the cost of postage + the coffee I will buy myself on the way to the post office.

I have a BNWT JCrew solid black tie that you could have cheap, if you don't like the H&M tie that Joel_Cairo is generously offering!
