Greetings!

I am slated to be married in September and the lady wants me in a black suit. Loathe as I am to wear a black suit, sometimes you simply acquiesce and let her have this simple pleasure. She likes how I look in a black suit, so be it.

UPDATE 4/23/12

She is no longer set on the vest, so now I simply need a Black, 2button (or 3 roll 2), dual-vented, notch-lapel, slim fitting suit. I wear a 41R so if you have a 40R or 42R send in the measurements. I usually wear either of those depending on the brand, larger 40Rs or smaller 42Rs work well since few make 41Rs.

That's it. Slim black suit, no stripes, no melange.

I'm not looking to break the bank on this, let's try to keep it between $300 - $500. If you have something truly exceptional, feel free to send it in and maybe we can work something out, but I am trying to avoid spending too much on a black suit. That being said, I don't want to look like a slob on my wedding day either, so take that as you will.

PM me if you have any of these available, or if you have some questions for me, or to simply wish me well on my nuptials.

Or a dark charcoal. Most people will think it's black, but it will be much more useful and flattering.

Fiancee isn't a fan of satin lapels and I haven't seen grosgrain ones that she is in favor of either (although she might be if they weren't "shiny").

As for dark charcoal, maybe, but in all likelihood no. I already have a number of charcoal suits (some very dark) and she seems adament on black. I can understand why since the groomsman will be wearing black and she wants them consistent (the difference being that mine is a 3piece).

So I'd like to keep it to a black suit. I know this is almost sacrilege on SF, but it is what it is.

If you do have a grosgrain tux then send some pics and it might sway her since really her only objection is the "shiny" lapels and stripe down the pants. The covered buttons and such are not an issue with her.
