An article in the Off Duty section of the WSJ this past week discussed how pleated pants are coming back because they are more comfortable and practical than tight plat front pants. Here is a link to the article: http://www.wsj.com/articles/pleated-pants-for-men-theyre-back-guys-1444847920

What are your thoughts? I've grown accustomed to the look of the flat front pant, but I miss the days of the more practical double pleat. As someone who carries a wallet in my front pocket, keys, tissues, and at least 1 phone, but often an extra work phone (the worst), I welcome back the trend.

i think a newspaper article or a "trend" shouldnt impact how you choose to dress

And SF/the bespoke world (at least, it's online presence via IG and tumblr) has been about forward facing pleats for years now.

Agree.....but to the extent designers begin making pants with pleasts en mass, unless you are a bespoke dude,...everyone will be "shepherded" towards pleats as choices for flat fronts begin to diminish.

They have never been away but basic manufacturers need something to persuade fools to buy things they have little need of because of 'fashion'.
