What causes the wrinkles you see in the satin tux lapels? And can they be removed? If so, how?

It could be several things, assuming the lapels are silk it is very common. Can be caused by humidity or lapels sewn with the wrong type of thread or the facing is sewn on with too much fullness. The jacket cloth or the canvass or edge tape may have shrunk.
Could just need to be pressed. Press from the underside with a hot iron and no steam. Don't move the iron back and forth, let it sit in one spot and let the heat do the work. Don't apply much pressure as the iron may make an impression on the silk. Better to have a tailor do it. If it persists you have to go inside and rework a few things.
