Would you wear these shoes with a tux?

What I'm looking for are shoes that I can also wear for business or semi-casual. Trying to stay away from patent leather.

Dammit! I was afraid that was going to be the consensus.

Black wholecut (plain or captoe) lace-up bal... if you want to wear that with business casual, that is your choice, but I think that is your only 'proper' option.

Fair enough - thanks Hoff.

You know I was a lot happier in my ignorance before I stumbled onto this forum

That's the Grenson Manchester:

I bought a black Grenson Stowe from the same ebay seller to use as a tux shoe. There are better alternatives, but it fit in my budget and wardrobe (can be worn in other settings easily).

Thanks Chorse - you are the man!

Quick question - UK 6.5 = US 7.5?

For me UK 8.5=US 9.25. He has the same shoe in 7.5, which would be too big. You could always e-mail to see if he has a UK 7.

I would not wear the shoes in the OP with a tux.

If you are looking for somethin versatile and usable in a business context, a plain-toe oxford is probably even better than a plain-toe wholecut.

I would not wear them with a tux.
I would not wear them with white bucks.
I would not wear them in a chair.
I would not wear them anywhere.
