Check out www.petakillsanimals.com -- a classmate of mine showed it to me when she got back from a summer internship with PETA last year. She didn't last the summer, and now she tells anyone who will listen what PETA is really like....

Oh, and on-topic: yes, in the right circumstances (i.e. access to a stylish fur coat, and a very cold climate) I would quite happily wear a fur coat.

I own/wear several fur coats/jackets. In my opinion, nothing keeps you warmer than a fine fur on frigid winter days.

I have a friend who is also a former intern, and have real problems with the organisation, although probably from a completely different perspective.

However, PETA Kills Animals is really not a good source for, well, anything. It is run by the Centre for Consumer Freedom, a notorious big tobacco PR front. I'd take anything they author or publish with a huge grain of salt.

Truth be told, I've always wanted a big silverback gorilla looking fur.

Certainly. If the weather calls for it, why not?

Be sure to make it a fake fur coat.

hi there all,
new member here!
I have several fur coats and happily wear them...while based in London, I tend to wear them in the Alps, in NYC in January or February or when London gets snow!
I have a 70's double breasted, full length black mink that looks very Tom Ford and I love to wear it with jeans, a black sweater and boots...also have similar coats in coyote, beaver, fitch, stone marten and ...the most pimp / narnia coat possible, a full length white mink coat..which for obious reasons doesnt get worn often....
I think for a man to wear a fur you need to be confident, be able to smile, have a bit of height on your side and generally speaking, dress it down as much as you can.

Thats my opinion anyway!

The singer from Dead or alive, Pete Burns, was prosecuted for wearing one of the UK Big celebrity big brother show a few years ago...

He didn't receive Christmas cards this year from PETA...
