Hell yea.

My dream is to sit by the beach, smoke a bowl, play some video games, shoot some hoops, wait for my fiance to get home so I can molest her and generally do nothing productive.

Getting paid for that is most definitely worth it.

If I have a chance to turn back, I would not choose to study law. Instead I will study textile in University or learn to become a tailor........

Although I am comfortable to become a barrister, I would be happier to become the owner of a tailor shop, making some sick stuff and getting the satisfaction of my customers. I don't actually care will I make a fortune or not, it is having something sustainable and my off-springs can enjoy

Also owning a tailor shop should means I can get a lot of sick stuff as well

After my summer job, I will try to find a part time which can help me gain insight, sales assistant in high end suit or shoe shop will be great...

I'm in this situation currently.

I'm unemployed and I just interviewed for a job as a buyer's admin assistant which could lead to being an asst. buyer then to a buyer in a couple of years. If offered this job it would pay about $30k.

Not sure I could live off of that even for a short amount of time.

What if your passion is to have wild animal sex with random supermodels on a daily basis? Who wouldn't give up 50% for that, amirite?

Assuming that we are all working at SF fall back salaries, I think almost everyone would give up a boring drone job to pursue their passion without compromise for a quarter or even less. The problem is that all those pursuits, would end up, in reality, require so much passion draining compromise as to be self defeating. Say your passion is Civil War history. Would you take $63,000 a year to be Shelby Foote writing tomes in your modest homes and giving the occasional lecture. Sure. Would you take $63,000 a year to teach 8-10 sections a year at a community college struggling to find an obscure academic publisher for your dissertation? Maybe not. Take $63,000 a year in small prizes on the pro tour? you bet. Same amount to help little old ladies on their golf swing? Meh. etc.

I did that to go back to grad school to pursue my passion and further my career.

Ill never make much, but with a masters should make 40- 50,000 when I get back into teaching.

I wish it was a more honored profession...

Is the "passion" in this thread men's clothing?

The answer is "it all depends" but yes, kind of working on it, we'll see what eventually happens.

However, I actually really like what I do for work right now.

Can you share what you do now, and what you're thinking about getting into?
