Would you rent a high end look for an important event?

Hey all,

I'll try to keep this brief. For one of my senior entrepreneurship classes, we're supposed to see an idea through from conception to creation. I'm working on an idea in regards to renting fashion clothes / accessories where users can browse entire looks and rent them as a package deal for a weekend / event.

At first glance, what do you guys think of the idea?

And, additionally, I threw together a mockup webpage for my class - what do you all think of this? http://unbouncepages.com/rent-this-look/

Tell me what you think! I'm very new to this, and any feedback you all give me can help me with the assignment.

This is basically what people do when they rent tuxedos. Unless you are doing some custom tailoring for them, I do not see much of a difference, other than you add some extra bits.

Well, to clarify, the idea is that you can rent any look - not just a suit. I'd have some high-end more casual looks and also offer accessories (watches, sunglasses, etc.).

It would also be a very visual browsing experience. You could browse through models wearing outfits and rent that specific outfit or use it as a base to start picking items - if that makes sense.

No chance. I think that I see where you're going, but I'd rather just buy the clothes. Wearing rented clothes is disturbing. Honestly, would YOU wear rented outfits? How would you go about choosing which outfits would be offered? How many copies of each outfit would you have to have? Then, you throw in all of the different sizes. A big reason for why tuxedo rental works is because they only offer a handful of designs. A business like the one that you're suggesting would need MANY outfits to even make sense. Otherwise, you're just a guy who's renting his unused wardrobe.
