Would you offer your pocket square to an attractive lady/man with coryza/epistaxis?

One time, true story, I was at a board meeting with one of our largest customers. The executive, a nasty brutish woman, spilled her coffee on her paperwork, and I handed my white linen pocket square to her to clean up her spill. Most importantly, I moved in a 'to the rescue' stance.

Initially, she came to ***** us out about problem products, but after that, she was very nice to me.

Evidently this proved to be a good move on your part.

I used to use a plain white handkerchief as a pocket square. I would buy dozens of identical ones at a time. new ones would be used as pocket squares, after they encountered any type of bodily fluid they became handkerchiefs in my pocket. I'd carry one new one and one old one in my pocket. then, if I needed to give a handkerchief to anybody, I would whip out the one from my breast pocket.

Linen yes, if the situation merited it.
Silk no, unless there is some sort of implicit understanding between me and the attractive female that the use of my silk handkerchief must be repaid with sexual favours after she has gotten over her cold.

Pocketsquares are my 'Shroud of Turin' proof I existed to future generations. It would be ill advised to skew any scientific evidences.

I would no more let somebody blow her nose on one of my pocket squares than on a cherished necktie!
