+1 on what everyone said about not wearing it without a suit and not wearing it with the skinny tie. That shirt goes only with a suit and more substantial tie.

When you say "dress smarter" ... don't you think this shirt would work with as mentioned suit trousers?

Ah gotcha - I wrongly assumed that you bought the shirt as a work shirt. I still think it wouldn't really work without a jacket and tie though - but that may just be my perception of contrast collars.

I'm guessing you're a bit younger than me though, so if you reckon you can rock a business shirt with jeans and boots, what the hell do I know.

And for me 'formal' would mean a tux. And in some (dare I say older and stodgier

) circles, 'semi-formal' means black tie and 'formal', white tie.

Yea I can't see me (or anyone down under for that matter) wearing a tux - unless of course for a "black tie" function ...

Yea I think I'm gonna go with the shirt (minus the tie), with brown suit trousers and the brown boots ... the only reason for the lack of the jacket - it'll probably be too much ... given it's more of a family thing then "social scene" if I wore the whole suit it'll be a bit over the top ... oh and btw I'm 20
