Hello,

I am new to the forum and new to the world of good shoes. I am looking for a dress boot which would also work as a casual boot. Would, in your opinion, Grenson Lewis Dark Brown work as a dress boot, or is it too casual? I live in Lithuania, we get a lot of rain and snow.
Loake Burford is closer to my understanding of a boot I want, but this particular Grenson comes cheaper and, apparently, offers better quality.

here are the Grensons:

Thank you for your opinion.

Perhaps nobody is responding because we don't know the fashion norms in Lithuania. In Wisconsin, you could certainly wear those boots with a suit, especially in the winter, but we are more casual than other parts of the USA. It also depends on the industry you are in. Nice looking boot, seems like they would go well with jeans.

I have something like that and I wear it as business casual (shirt and trousers) but would not wear it with a suit.

So, as chet31 said, it depends on what the standards of dress are in Lithuania.

For a really formal dress you should get more formal shoes, but for casual dressing i think you can wear them and even it's a really nice set!

Welcome to Styleforum.
Not one of the boots you have listed would be appropriate with a suit. With a sport coat, yes.
The reasons are the overpowering wingtip broguing and blucher design is too chunky looking. Not elegant with a suit.

Sticking with Grenson, I found only one model of boot that you may wear a suit with, and that is their Arthur chelsea boot in black, and only barely acceptable because of its attractive last (shape) and comparatively clean look:

The Arthur in suede (above) would only be worn casually, again, with anything from denim to sport coat combinations.

The Herring Holmes is a boot that you could wear with a suit:

Have you also looked into Crockett & Jones? This will definitely be a step up from Grenson but worth the investment.

OP, those Grensons would be fine with a suit in rough weather. They'd be fine with a tweed or checked flannel suit any time.
