Would I look too much like an "ironic hipster"....

'ironic' describing hipster is superfluous. I'd say a cthulhu badge is pure geek. Unless geeky hipster = ironic hipster?! Sometimes I feel so old.

I'm sitting here in boat shoes, skinny levi's and an american apparel hoodie, and I could discourse on the elder gods for some time.

That pin rules. Can we turn this thread into a Lovecraft discussion now?

Well hipsters don't subscribe to the bianarism that gives us such preconcieved notions of masculinity and feminimity. Actually, hipsters don't believe in anything!

Nerds can never be hipsters, as nerds pursue their nerdly endeavors in earnest. Their idea of what's important may differ from consensus thinking, but they still do think something is important.

nerds > hipsters
fratboys > hipsters
EVERYONE > hipsters

A little genuineness, effort, and conviction go a long way with me. People who try to pass off their complete lack of cultural, spiritual, and ideological substance as some sort of enlightened state seriously repulse me to the core of my being.

Hipsters have known about Cthulhu for some time. Their awareness hasn't reached the saturation point of lolcat pidgin or old /b/ memes cribbed from encyclopediadramatica entries, but many of them are superficially aware of the Mythos, at least enough to throw around "Lovecraftian" as an adjective, and soon enough, they'll consign it to the hipster dustbin along with zombies and robots.
