Worth buying Corneliani while in Italy?

I've considered a Corneliani tuxedo for some time, and have a trip to northern Italy this spring. For you gurus out there, is it worth buying while in Italy? Will be in Milan, could conceivably drive by Corneliani headquarters in Mantova, but not sure if either will provide a better deal than what I can get in the States.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Thanks

Corneliani first brand is priced around 1000-1400 euros here in Spain versus 3000 Usa $ or so that I have seen online for the same suit in the USA...

shirts 90-150 euros, until 500$ for the same

What kind of free market do you have then?

Where are you seeing Corneliani suits in the US for $3k? I see them retailing at Saks/Bloomingdales at around $1200-$1500, and well under $1k on Sierra Trading Post. Or is there another Corneliani line that I don't know about?

I'm like Boo - the best price I've seen for a regularly available Corneliani tux (ie, don't have to wait for something in the right size to come into stock) is around $1200.

My question is whether or not prices will be any better in Italy (I'll check and report back, but wonder if anyone already knows). Is Italy like France, where there are sales only 1-2 times a year? Is it worth going to the HQ/production facility, I didn't see any store listed for Mantova (Mantua) on their website?

They sell for 200-500 frequently at the Marshalls by my house. Mainly sportcoats though.

Winter Italian sales [Saldi] are supposed to start just after the epifhany. Exact date varies with region. Then there is a second set around the end of summer.

With the economy some shops started earlier. Of course not the better shops but the ones aimed at the mid market and lower.

Buying at the sales is can be tough. One local shop has shirts at something like 90% off right now. Sounds like a great deal right? Problem is you get to choose between barely big enough for a small teenager and too big for a NFL tackle. Everything in between is gone. Not to mention most of the nicer colours etc will be mostly gone before the sales even start.

The other question is what size are you? If you're bigger you may have problems finding things no matter the time of year. I'm usually a 50/52 Italian many shops top out at a 54. OTOH if you're slim I've seen pants two size smaller then my 46. In the adult section

Instead of worrying about the sales look if there are any outlets near the location you're going.

Thanks Nicola - like you, I'm between a 50 & 52 depending on the cut.

Regarding your last point, I have no idea how or where to look for outlets in Italy - I can inquire when I'm there - but any suggestions on how to do it before hand? Or recommendations (I'll be in Milan and Florence)?

And a last question, is there a price difference between going to an Italian Corneliani store rather than an Italian department store which carries Corneliani?

http://www.shopping-idea.com/negozi_...%20toscana.htm

That one in Arezzo [south of Florence] claims to stock Corneliani

This one in Lombardi so closer to Milan.

If you plug outlet and the city name [Italian version of the name not the English ] into www.google.it you'll find some lists.

I'm lousy with prices. Around here it's very hit and miss with me finding anything unless I drive over an hour. Plus off the rack is hard for me so I tend to ignore suits.

That´s cheap! But those sierra post are out of season ones, right? Not current ones.

Any link for CC Corneliani sales?
