I was going to post Super Mario II in here. I mean, the Mario series is pretty ******* awesome as a whole, but that just sticks out like a sore thumb. I always wondered why it was so different in style.

I always felt it was a lot looser than Super Mario 1. Super Mario 3 was all over the place.

Edit: I mean what the **** am I a raccoon now?

Really?

I loved the Halo 1 system. You have armor, and that regens. If it ever hits 0, you then have health, which doesn't. It gives you some staying power between fights, but punishes you if you play recklessly. Loved it.

The big thing I found in Halo 1 was the fact EVERY bullet mattered. If you were hit, you knew how much, and by what type of round. The assault rifle was the only one that felt like other games (toss a dozen rounds at an object, or 100, it doesn't make a difference), but even that had an ammo counter right in front of you, so that was cool too.

24, but what does this have to do with anything? I never said H1 is garbage, we are talking about worst video game SEQUELS right? H1 can't even be considered. I'm saying that from H1(Fantastic) to H2(Sucky game), I was very disappointed.

Agreed, I thought ODST was great. A little slow at times, but great story buildup.

Exactly.

When you got popped with a shotty you damn well new it. As you said the regeneration wasn't a problem. I thought it was perfect. On legendary your shield didn't mean ****. Truth and Reconciliation still gives me shivers.

+1. I liked the first snow level a lot too, but on T&R when you finally go up the lift on Legendary and that invisible sword guy comes out... let's just say I spawned back to that last "checkpoint" a lot.

The bladed elites were such a ******* pain. I'd rather take one of the invisible ones over a bladed gold elite any day though. They were a nightmare.

Assault on the Control Room. I'm not sure why, but it was one of the best levels I've ever played in any game. I often tried to play it in "stealth" mode. As in, see how far I could get without having to fire a single shot, just back punches.

Another reason why it was the best: Every enemy was different! It's what made it so fun. All other FPS's makes the enemies the same. The only difference between types are the guns, damage, and health.

Each enemy in this game was unique. Grunts were worthless, but if one hit you with an plasma bolt with others nearby....

Jackals had to be approached carefully, with (well thrown) grenades, sneaking behind them, or shooting their arms.

Hunters were awesome to fight. The one pistol shot to the back was so satisfying....

And Elites.... well.... damn. Many different types, (much like my FPS complaint), but so difficult and fun to fight. Plasma bolt + pistol was great. Grenades in the open were worthless, they'd just dive away.

And late game red or gold elites.... especially on legendary........... ouch.

no select fire, horrible ai, awful respawn, bad travel like you mentioned. any idea of "realism" goes out the window with the select fire thing. no semi-auto in a shooter really, really pisses me off - especially if you go through the trouble of making weapons that jam and blow up.

when you have a chance to make blood diamond: the game with the mechanics of far cry, don't ******* up. *********** it up.

and plus one on blackops and MW2. CoD4 was sublime; everything after is crap.

Agreed. I hated how you couldn't specialize your character as much with the skills, and I hated the leveling of enemies you encounter. Sure lots of people hated Morrowind at the beginning because you could get killed by someone much stronger than you, but that is part of why I liked it, it was more difficult. Oblivion had better graphics, but Morrowind was a much better game all around. Really hoping Skyrim is more Morrowind like than Oblivion.
