So, in other words, the exact opposite of Harajuku?
Men In This Town is fucking horrible because it is Sydney based, and the bun is a dime a dozen.
Speaking of horrible photos taken in Sydney, isn't there a "street" photographer who has a weekly or fortnightly column in the Sydney Morning Herald? The people in those photos usually look like irritating hipsters or half-dressed uni students.
I'm also half-amused/half-frustrated by the photos that appear in the free "MX" newspaper once a week. Some of the photos of the women are OK, but most of the photos of the men are crap. Skinny jeans, deep v-neck t-shirt, Nike or Converse sneakers, Ray-Ban style sunglasses and a crappy hat. Really? You go shopping at street markets and at Universal Store? Yes, that's really unique and interesting...
This. I feel uncomfortable now, being from Sydney and all.
Edit -- and fuck Men in This Town. Fuck it right to hell.
And this. MX Threads is horrible.
I haven't read smh in paper form for a while now so I can't remember, but I don't need it seeing how i'll have a constant reminder in a couple of weeks once semester starts again.
There seems to be an obvious bias in that section of MX, generally being Melbourne>Sydney>Brisbane. Apart from that I wouldn't know what to do without my lovely MX, thank the lord for them sweet souls that leave them behind on the train.
I've accepted it as a part of life.
On another note on awful street style, I found it hilarious that the last time The Sartorialist was here he took more photographs of decaying couches on dilapidated porches than of men.
I know. We really don't have much to offer. He basically said that Sydney was a wasteland in terms of menswear, and that all of the best dressed dudes were in Melbourne.
On the topic of Men in This Town:
Poor people don't have iPods.
"It puts the lotion on its skin--and the conditioner in its hair..."
Not exactly. I'm Finnish Swedish with long Swedish ancestry. The highest frequency of the Haplogroup I1 gene in the Nordics or the "Viking gene" is located near to my ancestral home on the western coast of Finland.
"The Haplogroup I1 (defined by specific genetic markers on the Y-chromosome) is sometimes referred to as the "Viking haplogroup". This mutation occurs with the greatest frequency among Scandinavian males: 35 percent in Norway, Denmark and Sweden, and peaking at 40 percent within western Finland"
+ the individuals depicted in this blog do not represent the normal people you see on the street here or the street style of Helsinki. This is why I posted the link.
It was a joke but they sell junk like that. They had a camo poncho not too long ago...
Remodelista on men's necklaces, look like total shit:
and then onto men's tunics:
They should just stick to interior design.
I've been away for a couple of months. Did they merge MC and SW&D while I was gone?
That riding helmet is unusual. Usually they wear hockey helmets.
And here all this time I thought "looking like an unmade bed" was just an expression.
Separate names with a comma.
