Dude. Its all about the Oranje.

You're crazy about them because you've been watching too much Dutch TV again:
At the same time another station, more inventively, has organized a World Cup Lingerie, in which national teams, consisting of five girls in underwear, socks and football boots, compete in penalty shoot-outs. When you look at the current ratings, it is 'Naked Women 2 Pundits 1'.

Here's a possible interesting result. If this game right now stands as is:

    Group D

Team Played Win Draw Lose Pts Goal Diff
    Port 2 2 0 0 6 +3
    Mex 2 1 1 0 4 +2
    Angola 2 0 1 1 1 -1
    Iran 2 0 0 2 0 -4

Now picture Port over Mexico and Angola over Iran

    Port 9pts
    Mex 4pts
    Ang 4pts
    Iran 0pts

If Angola can win by enough and Mexico lose by enough, Mexico could be out and Angola through to the second round. Weird. That Mexican draw against Angola could turn out to be HUGE.

I personally thought that Mastroeni deserved no more than a yellow.I think the ref was just trying to even things up again.

Bullshit. This game is a perfect example of crap referring. That was a clear booking for Mastroeni, nothing more. The referring has been shit the whole game. They even called that offsides wrong denying Italy a goal. DiRossi's elbow was violent, simply violent. You cannot in any way couch it in nicer terms. He threw his elbow into McBride's face. Mastroeni came into the tackle late. It happens. If the Italians could manage to stand up rather than fall down every time some one so much as touches them it would be great. Bunch of f-ing drama queens. Arena has every justification for protesting the officiating. It's crap. On a related note, what the hell are the commentators talking about that the red for Mastroeni was a "make up call"? For what? bob

i agree that de rossi's foul was worse than mastroenni's, but mastroenni's deserved a direct red. he went in cleats first, directly at the player's ankles. he didn't have an angle to go for the ball. if that's not a red, nothing is.

i also caught that bad call on what would have been italy's second goal.
