Good read in this thread. Like the OP, I recently started working at a company that is very casual. Basically no dress code. I'm interested in jeans, chinos, flannels and ocbd shirts but probably untucked as there is no need to tuck in. And of course boots. I'm new to this side of the forum. Everyone seems more laid back

Got in my Viapiana order and definitely screwed up somewhere. What do you guys think?

From what I can tell:

  1. Shoulders are too wide
  2. Could stand to be .5" longer in the body
  3. Not sure whether the sleeves were made that long because they will "accordion" to the requested length but they are .5" longer than requested

I think the body length is the biggest issue. The sleeves are long but you could just push them up a bit. The shoulders aren’t sitting on the shoulder but that is a style some like. Everything but the body could be okay for me if It was my jacket but it doe sound like you’re going to be happy with it as is.

I agree with your critique, but I think the body being so short and the arms being so long is more of an issue. Sorry you're not happy with it.

I'm surprised by the result.

The shoulders width, it's a style. I don't hate it but I don't prefer it either. My Lee jacket has tremendously dropped shoulders, like that.

The short body is not that big of a deal to me, but that's cause I'm used to off the rack.

The sleeves are really ******* long. Are you sure you only want them half an inch shorter?

I mean, you should give Ben Viapiana a call and see what he says.

Looking for a hard-wearing, heavy henley. I love the look of Taylor Stitch's heavy bag henley, but am hoping to find something made in the States. Anyone have recommendations?

Freenote cloth make an excellent MiUSA Henley. So does Mister Freedom. BTW that TV show you've linked has quite a bit of Mr Freedom in it. Goodwear make a somewhat inexpensive MiUSA henley but it doesn't look as good.

Freenote's aren't bad, but I can't get over that contrast chambray fabric on the inner placket. Not a huge fan of Mister Freedom's current offerings, unfortunately. Goodwear actually doesn't seem like a bad option, especially for the price. That said, TS is still the frontrunner right now.
