I have a trim fit Banana Republic shirt that is my favorite summer shirt.
It's casual. Very soft unstructured collar.
It's cut short, to be worn untucked.
I wear it with shorts, linen pants, jeans, anything.

What's your favorite in your closet, and where did you get it?
I need to pick up a few more trim fit, summer untucked shirt sleeve shirts.

I looks something like this, but with a much softer collar.

How long does this have to persist until this

Only click "Submit" once. Then, wait for the message to load...solves the problem pretty quickly

Not for me.
Because it only happens often but not always.

I think any shirt untucked looks bad outside of a narrow set of circumstances, but that's how I was taught. Without picking on anyone, there are numerous examples of this on the forum. Short sleeves compound the problem by making it look dorky.

I think tucking in a short sleeved shirt looks so much worse. I found a Brioni short sleeve that fits me well and is my go-to summer time untucked shirt.

Untucked short sleeved shirts are fine, so long as they're styled like sport shirts, and not short-sleeved dress shirts. I'm partial to popovers, as opposed to full button-front short sleeved shirts. It's like splitting the difference between a button-up and a polo. That, and dashikis.

I kind of live close to the "bro bar" area of downtown Denver, and it seems like the standard code to wear an untucked dress shirt with true religion jeans and pointy aldo shoes. Gross.

I would just wear a normal dress shirt, tuck it in, and roll-up the sleeves. If you want to go untucked you could wear a well-fitted polo shirt if it is short enough and doesn't look sloppy.

Why do you think untucked SS looks bad? If you're slim and fit, I think it looks fine if the shirt is cut very short.

Ok, what is your workhorse short sleeve summer shirt? A T-shirt? Let's see some examples and links.

I'd argue for people with my build(tall&slim) nicely fitted untucked short sleeve looks good, it's an acceptable casual look for the summer
beach/walks etc

Check out Connery when he visits Largo's Palmyra estate in Thunderball. Short sleeved untucked bengal striped straight hemmed shirt. Looks good to me for the tropical heat.
