I have a few trips coming up --- business and pleasure -- and Vegas ; ) ----- I didn't exactly want to wear my finest suit out on the town when booze is spilling, so I was looking for a stylish sport/coat blazer that can take a beating. Looking around $150 -- maybe $200 if it's really bad ass-- I am going to be wearing this out and don't want to be uber concerned about it.

I'm also looking for something slim and a little more daring --- maybe a solid creme or beige or a patterned light gray?

Any ideas on where I should shop for this? I live in Chicago, by the way. H&M, Uniqlo, Nordstrom rack are my first thoughts --- I'm not sure if I should go for something that will last longer though.

Suit supply blazers look pretty awesome, but they are $300 to $350 --- this is something that's going to be beat to hell so that's too much.

Any ideas?

spend $300 if it will look good. i hate the notion of "beater" clothes in a formal setting. better quality clothes will make you feel better and will tend to withstand staining, cleaning, repairs, etc.

That said, brooks brother regent unlined blazers come in some aggressive colors and are about $200.
