Work Boot Fit(Red Wing 606’s) fit question

Hi would like some advice. I know I have low volume feet.

An 8.5 seems the best fit because where the balls of feet line up and flex with widest part of the boot and having very comfortable toe room and wiggle too. The issue is width.

8.5C is too tight at the ball and heel. Too much pressure on intial fit.

8.5D nice fit in the ball area but slightly loose in the heel. Have to use insoles to fill up volume where the laces are and the vamp which I’m good with cause of low volume and skinny ankles.

Out of the 2 widths I would like if the D width wasn’t a little loose on the heel. Ball feels really nice with not a lot of pressure. If was a bit less loose in the heel then the D width would be it. Since the C width too tight it wouldn’t be an option.

I tried on 8D too short and not a lot of wiggle room. Toes felt cramped.

Since these are work boots will the slight heel looseness / slippage go away? The boots don’t seem that hard to flex that’s why I’m wondering if that could change making the boots less loose in the heel. The boots have the Super Sole 2.0. Thanks!

I allways have heel slip on boots that are new, especially on redwings but that disappears entirely. If you go to small you will end up with rubbing the heel to bone. I have worked in 8111 and in no circumstances you want to get shoes tight on toes or heel.

I have low volume fallen arches and use my saphir insoles in my redwing size 7. In fact I am wearing the black smiths now.

Thanks. Are heritage soles are different than work boot soles? The 606’s like I said have the super sole 2.0. Don’t know if that makes a difference between heritage and work line slippage.

Can't help with that I'm afraid, never has supersole.
