Just purchased from vintage store one of those wonderful Woolrich shirt jackets - the red and black plaid version I consider the most classic. Wondering about how old it might be. Condition excellent, with what seem to be all matching, original buttons. Type with the patch pockets and slanted pockets and no zipper.
Attached is a photo of a label just like my jacket has, with the five sides. This label has a tiny, circled "R" in top right corner. A nearby tab says "42" for the size. Inside a chest pocket is a tiny label stating "STYLE #12-63." There are no other tags or labels - no mention of where made, no mention of materials (e.g. all wool? a blend?), no cleaning information. No hint of labels with such information missing. Bottom is completely level, like a jacket should be, not like a shirt to tuck in.
So - any ideas of approx. when this jacket dates from??
