I have a pendleton shirt that was my Dad's, I think it is the board shirt. I think it is pretty nice, though after god knows how many years the stitiching on the button holes is coming undone. Never tried woolrich though. Pendledon does come in a small online.

^I have on other forums. Pendelton is good quality flannel and made in the US. Can't go wrong.

Vintage Filson is worth the premium. New Filson is not. It is no longer made in Seattle (most, not all, is outsourced to Hong Kong and there is a noticeable dip in quality [Not to say all Hong Kong garments are sub-standard, but they are in this case]).

Some Filson is still made in the US. I just purchased a Mackinaw cap that says made in the US.

Vintage pendleton stuff is hard to beat, quality wise. IMHO Some time in the '90s Pendleton began to cheapen their product and diversify. Many of the new things with the Pendleton label are not made by them, and are not so great. Look for the "made in USA" wool clothes.

hmm...so, it's looking like vintage filson > vintage pendleton > vintage woolrich > than anything outsourced...thanks for the input, guys...

i thought that this thread might lead me to one brand over the others...but, it's leading me more towards getting a little of each...

so, i started with this woolrich...

I love pendleton, but I think I have a bias towards them because of their involvement in the powwow culture. I've never gone wrong with any of their products. It might not be the cheapest in the world, but i've always experienced wonderful quality.
