Looking to get into colder-weather mode and also a foray into Wool (and any other autumnal fabric) Ties.

Anyone have some good tips/suggestions on some good designers/brands?

Also, from the pics I've been seeing here on SF, it seems a four-in-hand knot on Wool ties is the standard used by most. That said, does a half windsor work with these fabrics? I really need to perfect my four-in-hand.

Thanks everyone!!

If you're looking for a skinny tie, Brooks Brothers Black Fleece has some nice grey wool ties, unlined and self tipped. I think they're on sale for about $60 right now

Howard Yount has some truly awesome wool knits as well as wool-cotton blends. I'm eagerly awaiting their wool plaid tie

.
The wool-cotton blends are more traditionally styled at 57" inches long and 3-3/8 inches wide.

Borrelli is the king of the 100% cashmere ties in my opinion. They retail for over $200 iirc. You can find them on ebay for about $120 every now and then.

J.Crew seems to be offering some this season, but I have no experience with the quality of their ties.

Oh and I heard there is a pink Attolini cashmere tie for sale....

+1. I was in a Breuer shop a few weeks ago and the cashmere ties are really good.

Drakes also has cashmere ties.

I was at BG yesterday, and they had some great house label wool/cashmere ties. Really nice patterns and colors. $115 as I recall. Not self-tipped or self-looped.
