I know its usless to get a smaller coat altered to fit most times but how much bigger can a jacket be and still be altered to fit well. Im asking because I find jackets all the time that nearly fit but usually seem to be cut for someone who is a little chubby and im a skinny bwoi. I know alot of you guys are real knowledgable about this and could help a young Off the Rack shopper learn a thing or two.

just about anything can be done. but as vox says have the tailor leave some cloth inside for future use.
for more info, go to ask andys search function. ask for "most common jacket alteration". scroll down to that title.

Yes they're growing boys. After a while they're too fat to fit in the coat

Anyway, pea coats, duffel coats etc are not meant to be body fitting.
