I know this is a controversial subject. But I need an honest answer:
Will a wool/poly (80/20) blend look shiny? Making my husband a suit; it needs to look professional and NOT shiny but need to get something less expensive than 100% wool fabric if possible.
Thanks for your help!

Am responding because i suspect I will be the only one and this seems like a sincere question?

Nothing wrong with shiny and everything wrong with wool poly blend. It will pill, not be comfortable and run hotter, look cheap (not because it shines but because of the way it shines fake looking) ect - to name a few.

If you need to save money there are many very inexpensive 100% wool suits that can be purchased on ebay or various last call/chance stores. Also you can surely find end runs of 100% wool suitings in the coarser grades for cheap.

The absolute only reason for poly is a potentially increased wrinkle resistence.

Poly just isn't nice to wear even in blends!

First off, it's cool that you are attempting to make your husband a suit. I don't think it will look shiny, but 100% wool is much more ideal for numerous reasons. Out of curiousity, what is the price difference between wool/poly (80/20) and 100% wool fabric?
