fiber is just one of many factors in how a cloth drapes and wears. there's also weave, weight, finishing, the length of the fibers, and so forth. you're better off asking your tailor for fabric recommendations.

Thanks

Giving all those factors is about the same (Hopsack, light to mid weight,...)

What do you think more suitable for summer wear?

I'm looking for online OTR RTW so can hardly get suggestion from tailors!

Mohair adds body to cloth that silk and linen do not. Mohair blends are more often a suiting cloth and wool linen silk are jacketings. They are very different cloths.

Mohair is very firm and has no give or stretch. Needs to fit a bit looser.
All Wool linen silk cloths are not the same. Depends on the percentage of each fiber type in the blend. This is all very general information and a disadvantage to shopping online. You cannot touch the cloth and know if you like it. You have to handle the garments and see which you prefer. They are such different cloths.

Very interesting question and despite the great replies I'm still not convinced..
Are those blends necessary? Isn't it overkill?
I guess lining also needs to be checked, butterfly lining would be great, fully lined ever with a blend is a mistake for summer.
I'd like to hear more insight in the wool silk linen (and mohair) blends... Do you really get all the benefits?

I never really understood the logic of blending linen and silk. Silk is not that breathable and is often used as an insulating layer.

I believe a wool/mohair blend of proper weight would be better during the warmer months.

It seems like it's to achieve a particular texture, warmth be damned.

Ariston has a light weight 50/50 wool, mohair blend hopsack jacketing cloth in the current books.

Personally, I prefer 100% wool. No blend.
