Woody Allen Sues American Apparel

NEW YORK -- Woody Allen filed a suit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan against American Apparel for using his image on billboards in New York and Los Angeles last May, reported the Wall Street Journal yesterday. Allen is seeking $10 million.
The Jewish Daily Forward has a photo of the billboard on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The billboard shows Allen dressed up as a Hasid in a scene from his film Annie Hall with the American Apparel logo and some words in Yiddish.
According to the Forward, the Manhattan billboard and its Hollywood counterpart were taken down within a week.
