They seem like a decent alternative especially if you're going to put a rubber sole on the original 1000 mile anyway. It does seem hard to find anywhere that sells them for much less than full retail, whereas the originals are more often discounted and significantly cheaper to begin with. I prefer the look to the original but maybe not ~$100 more.
