    Really attack ??

Doesn't look like I called him any names or said anything disparaging about him other than just to question the validity of this thread, but I guess anyone who disagrees with you is attacking you.
If you read this thread I am not the first to question TS or the things he writing that he does in these boots seem odd.
On this same page people question the patina on the boots and why no pics.
Now I feel like you are attacking me since you disagree with and are out of line.
    Good day sir.

I'm sorry if I misinterpreted what you meant to say - it was the quips about the "thread not being real" and "viral marketing". I have no problem with your opinion about the value of the boots and/or abusing them. But it sounded like you take issue with the intent of the OP as some sort of marketing shill.

I apologize if that's not what you meant.

No problem everyone twists off now and then we are all just keyboard warriors sounding off.

I was poking fun at thread starter with the remarks about it not being the 20s and the stuff you did then you wouldnt do now in expensive boots.
Back then these boots were only 3 saw bills and a hay penny.
Seriously if TS is for real and got these boots at a bargain price then more power to him they are his boots.
I was more or less pointing out that for me spending that much is a luxury and I wouldn't do those things not just because they were nice boots but because I have shoes more suited to doing that work. :D

No you aren't overstepping at all. I will clarify one point though, I don't own the store. I own the technology company that runs all of Crane's online entities and when I am at the store I'm involved in firearms sales.

If gregedgewater1 really did read some of this thread I made it very clear in my opening post that I don't work for Wolverine or any ad company. It's fairly common knowledge that I write real world no bullshit reviews of various products from time to time. If the product is good and lives up to it's branding in the real world then it gets a favorable review. If not I call a spade a spade and that's that. As a matter of fact Wolverine has contacted me personally and thanked me for wearing the 1K boots I own the way I do. As a matter of fact all the real world reviews of the 1K line are found pretty much on this forum and nowhere else. As far as I'm concerned when you talk about spending a good chunk of money on anything all the hype and ad campaigns mean jack shit. I want to hear about the product from actual customers. That's the whole point of this thread and the other 1K threads.

They are a workboot made by a workboot company and these boots are made with the best materials around in their very own factory right here in the good ol' USA. IMO that's what a heritage line ought to be and they did it right. I'll continue wearing my workboots as I see fit during the course of my daily routines.

I read somewhere that the 1k Mile boots are actually made by Allen Edmonds. Is that true?

Isn't that calling him a liar? That's the actual definition of an attack. Disagreeing is coming to a different conclusion, i.e., Cranes thinks the 1K's are actual work boots while you think they are dress boots.

Telling Cranes that he must be a shill posting on behalf of the mfr or retailer can most certainly be construed as an attack.

After reading your next post however, it's clear you are just inquisitive (but your OP certainly sounded like an attack to me) :satisfied: .

In any event, my original 1K's stick to pavement for the most part. The leather sole just isn't conducive to off road use. I'll add a lugged vibram when my leather sole wears out. In the meantime, they are looking great with a year's wear on 'em. Obligatory pic (even though they aren't the shell 721's).

The Shell 721's are made by Allen Edmonds. They have a video showing and talking about them being made.

I watched the video someone posted a link to it and they talked about working with the leather and the vintage style and some guy stated he was head of the project.
I guess he meant he was in charge of calling Allen Edmonds and asking them to make a shoe.
I find this somehow disappointing why make a video about the shoe if you aren't even the ones making it??
The video make it seems as tho they are proud of the shoe but why all they did was pass a pattern over to someone else.:(

Very interesting, not that it's a bad thing by any means. AE has a lot of experience with shell so it would make sense from a manufacturing point of view.

Heard from Leffot today that Wolverine will be releasing another limited edition shell cordovan boot in the coming months -- cap-toe boot in brown. Since I can't seem to find 721LTDs in 8.5 (I'm too late to the game), I'm looking forward to the new release. I just hope it's more sooner than later!

Too bad you need 8.5 i know a seller on ebay that has them in 8 and 9. If your interested search Wolverine 1000 mile 721 LTD on ebay.

I've been eyeing those boots on ebay for the past week. I hear the 721LTDs run a bit more true to size, but I still think the size 9s would be a little too large for my feet. As much as I want to pull the trigger on those, I can't stomach shelling out $600+ on the off chance they might fit (even with the return policy). If I could try them on locally, then it might be a different story.

Ebay is great though -- it's where I picked up my 1000 Mile Originals!
