Buy some Red Wing boots! Some Red Wing styles have small size that start at 4D

It's a work boot. temp control. The texture also help you pull your foot out the mud.

I think the main reason for lining in shoes is when the outside leather isn't stiff enough to hold its shape otherwise. Thicker leathers don't need it, although some still have it for comfort, less dye transfer, etc.

I am referring to the one that comes attached to one of the shoes.

    Hello,
Just got these a few weeks ago and I really like them. First pair of nice boots. Anyway, I was wondering if this creasing on my left boot is normal?

    Thanks!

After reading through all of the great knowledge shared in this thread, I got my Wolverine 1000 Mile boots in Brown. Thanks to all who have provided their insights on how to buy and care for the boots.

Bought 1/2 size down from my normal dress shoe size, treated with Obenauf's LP and added a Vibram half sole before wearing them for the first time last night.

Below are a few pictures of the boots when I got them back from the cobbler yesterday. Decided to go with thin half soles in order to preserve the balance of the boots. I decided against the heavier traction soles since the toughest conditions these boots will have to endure are drunken night stumbling around the bars in Downtown Los Angeles.

Yes it's "normal" in the sense that many of us have significant asyemetrical creasing It's unfortunate though
