Many thanks - just purchased them.
Nike's are weird man. I wear a 10.5 in Nike but a 9 in Wolverine's.
i tend to think of nike as true+0.5 and wolverine1k as true-0.5. So there is a full whole size difference in my opinion.
Also curious if Crane's can get the Samantha Pleet line. Would like to get a pair for my wife.
is this with regular cotton socks? or thin dress socks?
that's the only thing he mentions in his post that he doesn't think he can get... he just said this as recently as a couple pages back
Ah sorry. I only check this site from my phone so I sometimes miss info. Appreciate the heads up though.
So I got my wolverine boots in 10.5 D but i'm thinking they might be a tad big for me. I'm an 11c in the allen edmonds park avenue and another one of their wingtip shoes. they are my best fitting shoes. I wear a 10.5D in cole haan so I ordered the 10.5D wolverine. was that a mistake? I'm worried my heel is just a bit too narrow for the boots.
For reference, I am a 7.5D on Brannock. The perfect fit in the Wolverine 1K is 6.5. I had a size 7, but it was clearly too big for me. Length was the issue.
go 1/2 size down from these for the 1K.
Don't be worried, there are plenty other "weirdos".
These are my sizes:
10 Vans-10 Converse-10 Nike running-9 Clark's-9 Red Wing moc toe-8 Wolverine 1,000 mile-8.5 White's SD.
With that said I can wear a 8.5 in wolverine 1,000 mile boots but the cxl is substantially thinner than on my whites so they stretched a lot and are very tight and comfy with no toe jam even when hiking. My whites are fitting the same as a wolverine so the 8.5 gives me a bit more room for a work boot. Being cxl upon stretching I can toss in a insole if needed as well as I can wear a thin or thick sock. Clark's are very simple and very basic. I can wear an 8.5 in Clark's and they'll stretch to comfort although I prefer a 9.
Either way my bottom line is that it all depends on what you plan to do with the boots. Size comfortably down for casual/dress wear. Size up for adventure wear. I wear a size 8 in my Addison's and I will/can run, hike, bail however I have to. Out shooting in the hills, hiking with the dogs, working in the warehouse, either way it still works out.
Just having a bit of jealousy today. After I bought my 744s from AE on sale a couple months ago, I told my friend he needed to get on that. He bought his pair, and he loves them, but he kept talking about their red color, which I thought was just a peculiar version of the cigar shell. I finally saw them over this weekend. Turns out AE sent him a brand new pair of 721's instead! SON OF A BITCH! I would have totally bought a pair of 721s as well if I had known they had some on the shelf. They're impossible to find brand new anymore, let alone at such a steep discount. Practically impossible to find used either.
BTW, AE doesn't have any sort left at this point. According to a sales associate, they got yelled at for offering seconds, especially at deep discount, and were told to take them all out of the system. I'm worried this might be the end of W1K x AE collabs, since AE uses seconds to offset the cost of imperfections. We'll see how they work this out going forward.
after i do this method will the dark color stay permanent or it will get lighter eventually?
Nice pics, I've also got the tan 1ks but use pitch blend products instead. Theyll definitly keeping evening out and lightening up. I wouldnt say they have ever looked the same as new out of the box, if anything they look better.
