Have any 9's lying around as well?
I'll try to post pics tomorrow
Sure, I'll try to grab some decent shots. Boots are CRAZY comfortable, really like the sticthing on them. I waxed them up with some Montana Pitch per reccomendations on this thread. I wore them around the house for a bit, and truthfully was kind of surprised at how quickly one of them started to crease in the foot/toe area. Gonna happen, and it sounds like it will even out over time, but was surprised at how quickly it happened.
Im not too sure if I'm allowed to say this or not , since Im semi new.. but i'll be launching a small makeshift webstore soon with just 1000 mile boots. Store liquidation, possibly including some 744 LTD's .
As requested here is Brown and Rust 1000 mile boots side to side.
Jeeze. I wonder if I own Browns not Rusts after those shots.
keep in mind these are new untreated boots.
I have both rusts and browns. The rusts, being ~1 year older and more worn, are much, much darker than the brown. They are a deep burgundy at this point, where the browns look maybe 2 shades darker than they were originally (and most of that is due to the Obenauf LP). I found sun darkened rust quicker and deeper than the brown. Being CXL, though, I think everyone's mileage will vary on results.
Super happy with both sets of boots, however.
wow. that is interesting. considering that the rust start off considerably lighter. i will finally get delivery of rust 1ks tomorrow.
Hi, I have a question about the Wolverine Winchester.
I just bought a pair, and the inside says "Made in China". I thought the 1000 collection was made in the USA, right? Has anyone found a severe variation of quality for those models made in China?
I fail to see how all of these users expect these boots to withstand rain and snow. In no review including the description on the wolverine website state that these boots are made for these weather conditions. Stop complaining about water and snow problems and buy some boots specific for those conditions. The 1k are great boots. They are durable. Buy some rain boots if your having problems
Show me where it specifically states that they aren't made for such conditions. And as far as reviews go mine are the only real world reviews and not some candy ass bullshit like what's found all over the net.
The 1K collection is U.S made. The other collections (Gentlemen, Gentry, et al.) shown aren't as far as I know: http://www.wolverine.com/US/en/1000Mile
Back in my collegiate days, I traipsed through deep lake-effect snow in leather-soled, calfskin shoes many a night post-bar hopping. Still own and wear said shoes to this day. Will subject all my boots to Portland rain this season on my motorcycle without hesitation. I can't imagine pre-textile footwear was disintegrating at the sight of rain or snow back in Mad-Men times, or they'd be needing to replace shoes very frequently... and jackets. Cows aren't hearded into the barn at the sight of rain...
