Hi all,

Just wanted to get advice on this. Most of my jobs to date didn't require a suit. My new one does. I have three nice suits - thats fine.

Now that its coming into winter i'm wondering about Winter Jackets. Can i wear a winter jacket instead of my suit jacket? I'm obviously aware that one can wear an over coat - but most over coats are 3/4 lenght - and not being the tallest, i prefer to wear waist lenght jackets. So, what is acceptable here? For eg, is it acceptable to wear a jacket like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Peter-Werth-.../dp/B0042YEO1Q

instead of my suit jacket during the wineter? I mean, i know ultimately its up to me, but i'm just wondering whats generally thought of as the norm.

If it is generally the norm to wear a winter coat over ones suit jacket, then is it easy to get waist length over coats...? or what would people recommend?
Many thanks!

It should be fine, especially if you're not at a workplace that requires suits.

You can definitely get shorter overcoats. Many of the 3/4 length coats also come in short sizes. I'm 5'11", but sometimes I buy short sizes as well since some nice coats are too long for my tastes.
