The Galway on the 64 may not be as stylish, however if one were to wear a pair I doubt that anyone would throw them out of the office. From this picture both the Heather Gorse version and the Rosewood CC version look pretty much the same. However Heather Gorse is certainly the better leather for wetter conditions of the 2 but the Country Calf version is no slouch either.

I have no problem walking down sidewalks with snow and salt when I"m wearing suede. I find that the salt generally stays on the surface of the pre-treated suede and will brush off easily when I get to my office. No salt stains over the past two winters so far. If there's a lot of slush then I'll go with pebble grain or break out the bean boots.

It's getting closer to that time of the year here... I was wondering if there are any new suggestions to add to this thread?

Overall, inclement weather footwear technology has advanced but little from where it was in early 2015.

I'm sure that's true, though I'm still interested in hearing more suggestions about what is currently being used by guys on this forum and starting a new thread seemed redundant.

Good looking boots! Really like the dark color of the leather.

I'm throwing in these 2 as well:

Synthetic soles just make faaaaar more sense for foul weather wear. It's not even close. But winter does hold a few cold dry days where the leather soles get an outing.

Thanks. Yes, quite a few shoes as well but my first love is boots.

They all look unworn, in new condition! Your shining method looks on point, too!

Well that's because they are new and unworn - at least in the pics. With the exception of the first pair - the Galways. I do periodically post "How are they holding up?" pics of the shoes and boots a year or two or three down the road, but my go-to gallery is made up of fresh out of the box pics.
