Winter coat?

For future reference, could I wear this over a suit? A regular overcoat is a little too open for the windy chills here in Chicago. Kenneth Cole Waverly Overcoat

You can get an overcoat in basically the same style. Just longer.

Isn't that a trench coat you posted? In a Chicago winter??

Looks like a peacoat to me. Personally, I think you would be able to wear it over a suit, but I'd personally stick with an overcoat. Get a polo coat if you're into double breasted.

It could be worn over a suit, and I see it done often. I'd prefer a longer overcoat, especially for Chicago weather.

Just layer it correctly, and you should be fine
