i voted for peacoat. you're thin. make sure it fits.

oh, and your location might have made me vote differently. cold weather (anywhere besides Southwest/Florida) = peacoat. warmer weather = M65.

Seconded, even though I can't reach the site (is there gratuitous cursing on there, or something? My work server blocked it). Spiewak stuff is generally good-fitting and well made.

When I see a black dude in an M65, I think politics. That may or may not be the vibe you want to put out.

I also endorse the pea coat. Style for miles. Go with a slim fit.

too bad he's going to purposely buy a coat that doesn't fit.

This isn't a t-shirt. Your rules apply.

Since the suggestion for a peacoat is so overwhelming, I think I'm going to get one of the sterlingwear ones. I'll possibly get the J.Crew university coat, if I can find it at a reasonable price (someone said they saw it for $90.00?!?). So anyway, these are the options I have from sterlingwear:

Authentic:

Classic:

Mariner:

I'm thinking about getting this peacoat specifically:

Thoughts?

These are pics some guy on the forum took of himself wearing the authentic sterlingwear:

The guy said he sized down one (wears 38, got a 36).

That's a slim fit, right? Or no?

The top one is me in an "authentic" 50s military issue model. I don't know about the second, though I think it's Brian, and if so it is a Sterlingwear.
