^^not really. Just wipe em off when you get home, and oil them from time to time.

I use military/tactical boots. Their not the most fashionable by all means, but the purpose is to keep my feet warm and dry. I don't want my dressy boots exposed to the hydrocarbons, sharp ice and salt out there. Which begs to ask, why don't dress shoes incorporate technical features into their products, such as sealed seams and waterproof membranes?

Currently I wear wool socks (sometimes a double layer) with 5.11 HRT Tactical Boots or Haix Airpower Jungle Boots with Gore-tex XCR. Both completely waterproof, lightweight and wear like running shoes.

i think the more accurate question is "how come when they do, they abandon everything that makes a dress shoe look nice and instead come up with some hideous square toed monstrosity?"
