he doesn’t have a grandeur last with a classic round shape atm, just the almond toe

Well then since I brought it up here and once I mention it to him via email, it is only fitting it should be named in my honor. Soooooo that said, the new modern round will be known as the BColl last.

You are free to order Grandeur line in any last. Grandeur is more about the detail - strong fiddlebacks, high SPI stitching, seamless heels etc.

Perhaps he’s made some ‘learnings’ from working with this last. It was supplied by a customer who bought it from his Japanese bespoke shoemaker i believe

There's also the Edlyn, his roomiest and roundest last.
Marlyn is a sleeker round last compared to the Edlyn. He told me Marlyn is wider than the Kirin in a direct comparison.

The Marlyn last is a sleeker round? Well there goes the idea of a last named in my honor.

the lasts he developed for grandeur are a bit different in fitting as they were meant for dress shoes rather than casual boots. Marlyn May have the round toe shape, but that doesn’t mean the instep, arch, and heel are shaped for dress shoes

Speaking of round lasts and the premise behind the initial desire for a rounded toed full strap loafer, I wanted a loafer which would have had a silhouette similar to this one.

Obviously this is a string loafer, but I would have been confident a full strap design would work just as well. Overall, I am satisfied with the Aurora last, and happy to not fork over the money for these (Stefano Bemer's Semi-Bespoke line).

So, Emil has been receiving various requests for GMTOs, individual MTOs, etc etc. So to make things easier for him, if you guys are interested in the Lama loafer GMTO give me a shout. I am compiling a list to streamline the order process.
